Osteoporosis is a disease in which bone weakening increases the risk of broken bones or fractures. Osteoporosis is common in the age group over 50 and over 3 million cases a year are reported. Until a broken bone occurs there an 1 no early warnings. Although men and women both can have Osteoporosis it is most common in females. It is recommended that at the age of SO a baseline Dexa scan be performed to measure your bone volume or under SO if you have risk factors such as smoking or previous fractures. Although they can manage the condition with medication there are NO KNOWN CURES.
